About us and the Farm

Flowers at Skoorsteenberg FarmSkoorsteenberg Farm is situated on the slopes of the Skoorsteenberg Mountain in the Tankwa Karoo, famous for its geological formations and bushman paintings.

It is also part of the Zwartbosch Nature Reserve, which has many endemic fauna and flora species such as the famous Hoodia plant .

The wildlife on the farm includes Springbok, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Ostriches and other small game. Domestic farm animals are sheep, goats, donkeys, horses, chickens and geese. (Donkey Cart rides can be organized on request.)

Mountain view thumbnailWe are in the process of establishing an organic vegetable garden – we aim to produce enough fresh seasonal veggies for farm and guest use.

If you cannot, or do not want to, prepare you own meals – please advise us when booking. Meals can be provided. Wholesome South African style cooking is our specialty.

We are Eco- and dog friendly. Dogs are welcome, as long as they:

  • are vaccinated and deflead
  • have their own bedding (no dogs on the beds please)
  • are on a leash when leaving the fenced in farm-house area
